UPDATE: Sheriff Identifies Women Killed in Crash in Columbia County

The names of the deceased in the October 23rd crash are as follows:

Driver of passenger car: Nancy J. Duchow age 61 Village of Pardeeville

Passenger in passenger car: Lori M. Laper age 52 Village of Wyocena

Press Release from the Columbia Co. Sheriff's Office:

On October 23, 2012 at 10:58am the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two vehicle crash on CTH EE at CTH E and Military Road. This intersection is located approximately 5 miles northeast of the Village of Pardeeville.

The preliminary investigation into the crash is that a passenger car was traveling south on CTH EE. The vehicle stopped at the stop sign and then proceeded into the intersection into the path of a dump truck that was traveling west on CTH E. The impact forced the passenger car into the ditch with the dump truck tipping over onto its side.

Two adult females in the passenger car were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Columbia County Medical Examiner. The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of their families.

The dump truck was operated by David K. Falk, age 47, or rural Poynette, WI. Mr. Falk was transported to Divine Savior Healthcare with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office with assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol. The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Columbia County Highway Department, Pardeeville Fire Department, Pardeeville EMS, Divine Savior Healthcare EMS, and Blystone Towing.
