Madison Police say a woman recently arrested in a retail theft case is also suspected of attacking a loss prevention officer at a local Target.
Ratonda Holmes is one of two women arrested over the weekend for shoplifting. Dane Co. deputies say the women may be part of a larger retail theft ring.
A 25-year-old loss prevention officer at the Lien Rd. Target saw a picture of Holmes in online media reports.
She tells police she recognized Holmes as the suspect who attacked her on December 22.
The victim says she tried to stop Holmes and another woman from leaving Target with $500 worth of merchandise that day.
She says Holmes grabbed her, twisted her breast and threatened to douse her with pepper spray. The victim backed off, per company policy.
The loss prevention officer plans to pursue a lifetime ban from Target for Holmes.
Holmes now faces additional charges of battery, retail theft and use of pepper spray during the commission of a crime.
