From the Green County Sheriff's Department:
At 4:41 P.M. (August 1, 2012), Deputies, along with New Glarus and Belleville Police, New Glarus EMS, New Glarus Fire, and Medflight, responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries on STH 69, at Old Madison Road, Town of New Glarus.
Investigation revealed Lawrence A. Deschamps, age 54, of Glenview, IL, was slowing down to turn left onto Old Madison Road when a vehicle driven by Benjamin B. Atkinson, age 49, of New Glarus, drove into the back of Deschamps’ vehicle.
Atkinson's vehicle received very severe damage and Deschamps vehicle received severe damage.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
There was no air bag deployment.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Deschamps was transported by EMS for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
Atkinson was transported by Medflight for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
