Madison Police are investigating two overnight incidents on Jay Circle on the city's northside.
Madison Police say they are looking for 3 people who fired shots near a woman and her son around 1:15 Thursday morning.
They say a woman and her son suspected someone was breaking into vehicles in the area so they went outside.
They were then allegedly confronted by 3 people who fired several shots with a pellet gun. No one was hurt.
The suspects took off running.
Police say an 18-year-old male was approached by two males outside of his house on Jay Circle about 15 minutes later.
One of the males allegedly pointed a handgun at him and demanded money. The victim turned over a small amount of cash. The victim was not hurt.
Police are now looking into whether the same criminals were involved in both incidents.
