UPDATE: Two Women Found Dead in Hotel Room in Sauk Co.; Deaths Possibly Drug Related

UPDATED Friday, January 18, 2013 --- 12:17 p.m.

Press Release from the Sauk Co. Sheriff's Office:

On January 17, 2013 at 11:04 a.m., the Sauk County Communications Center received a call from Ho-Chunk Security reporting two deceased females in a hotel room.

Upon the arrival of the deputies, two women were located in a room deceased. The women were identified as Stephanie L. Mortimer, age 25, of Reedsburg and Ashley M. Brault, age 27 of Madison. Initial investigation lead the investigators to believe the deaths were possibly drug related. The investigators located needles, syringes and other smoking devices used for the consumption of drugs. Autopsies were completed on Friday with toxicology reports pending. The investigation remains ongoing.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Ho-Chunk Security, Dells-Delton EMS and the Sauk County Coroner.

    Please don't make such ignorant comments - no matter what these young people didn't deserve to die. Educate yourself on drug addiction before you make such comments. It's a disease...once addicited it's hard for them to stop. Let's get the drugs off the streets so they aren't so accessible & we can try to prevent this from happening again and again...very sad...

    So sad, they were so young and Ashley will be greatly missed by all who she touched in her short life.. I was hoping she could of kept her life clean. Now one sweet little boy has to grow up without his mommy in his life. Its so heartbreaking.

    Hmm, the new ads on TV, talk about not wanting any new casino's into the state, from "out state casino interests" because they bring corruption and drugs to the state......thinking it's already here in the casino's.
