Madison Police are investigating after a van window was shot out Friday night.

Reports of gunfire came in around 11:00 that night in the 200 block of S. Baldwin St.

An empty van with a shattered driver's side window was found in a parking lot. Witnesses saw a man walk away from the van. He later turned up at a bus stop.

The man said he was driving in the area when someone called out for him to stop. He did and two men approached. One had a handgun.

The victim said there were two shots, including one that shattered his window.

He was not hit, and tells police he did not know why he was being confronted. He says he had seen the two men before, but he did not know their names.
