It's a project high school students have been working on since June. FFA members get to raise chicks into grown pheasants, giving them a hands on learning experience on responsibility.
School officials say the Ag teacher Mark Thomas was the one who discovered the horrific site. They say he was going in for the daily feeding and that's when he saw the door had been ripped off his hinges.
They say they don't know exactly how the birds died. Their water was tipped over, or someone could have intentionally killed them.
Now this vandalism was found the same day as the school says a piety potty was tipped over on the athletic field. They believed the two were linked.
The school says this program will keep going with the 40 pheasants they have left for this school year. They say hopefully they'll have caught the person responsible before its time to free the birds in the fall.
If you know anything about this incident, please call Richland Center Police Department or Richland Crime Stoppers.
