WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) -- Waukesha police exchanged gunfire with a 76-year-old man yesterday afternoon following a domestic violence complaint. Chief Russell Jack says police began shooting after the man fired his rifle at them. No one was injured.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin wildlife officials say hunters have killed 20 wolves since the state's first organized hunt began last week. The hunt that began on October 15th is set to run until hunters kill a statewide total of 116 wolves or until the last day of February.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Parole's been denied for one of the five men who were imprisoned for the 1992 murder of a Brown County millworker. It's the second time Michael Hirn asked to be released from the Green Bay Correctional Institution.

WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) -- A Wausau woman is charged with animal abuse for the death of her boyfriend's dog. Prosecutors say the 20-year-old mistreated and poisoned the dog and then wrote about it in her diary. The dog died in June.
