Wednesday Morning Wisconsin News Headlines

Posted Wednesday, November 14, 2012 --- 7:45 a.m.

Here is the latest Wisconsin news from The Associated Press:

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin transportation officials say most major road construction projects are done for the year and shouldn't cause headaches for Thanksgiving travelers. The heaviest travel days are expected to be this Friday when deer hunters head to the woods for the start of deer-hunting season, as well as the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday after the holiday.

LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -- The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is getting a $50,000 grant to help incoming students who need remedial math courses. One in five incoming freshmen needs remedial math, a figure that's almost twice as high for under-represented minority students.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Wisconsin attorney general says people who bought a TV, monitor or laptop with an LCD flat screen have three weeks left to claim part of a class action lawsuit settlement. The billion dollar agreement was reached with 10 electronics manufacturers who were accused of conspiring to raise prices for the screens.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The Milwaukee Brewers and their charitable arm raised more than $3.5 million during the 2012 season. That's up almost 10 percent from last year.
