CHICAGO (AP) -- Prosecutors in Illinois have filed first-degree murder charges against a Wisconsin man in the death of his wife who drowned in her bathtub in suburban Chicago 13 years ago.
The Cook County State's Attorney's office said Friday that 64-year-old Frank Buschauer was arrested Wednesday near his home in Pell Lake, Wis., He appeared in court Friday, where a judge ordered him held without bond. Prosecutors say the arrest came after detectives developed new information about the Feb. 28, 2000, death of 47-year-old Cynthia Hrisco, but would not elaborate. Hrisco died at the couple's South Barrington home.
Prosecutors say Buschauer said shortly after his wife's death that he might have killed her but he could not remember.
Prosecutors say Buschauer said again this week that it was possible he killed her.
