MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A Milwaukee police officer is charged with misconduct in public office for allegedly slamming a suspect's head against a wall during an arrest.
Officer Rodney Lloyd appeared in court Friday. He's due back for a preliminary hearing Oct. 16.
Lloyd had arrested a man on a domestic-violence complaint and brought him to the District 2 station in June. According to the complaint, once the man was in the booking room, Lloyd slammed the man's head into a concrete wall.
The complaint says the man asked Lloyd what was wrong with him. Lloyd responded that the man earlier had indicated he could "take Lloyd out."
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (http://bit.ly/GD5V99 ) reports an internal affairs investigation found Lloyd used excessive force.
Lloyd has been an officer since 1993. His attorney declined comment.
