It's about more than just music. For dozens of Wisconsin students it's a way of life.
"It''s so much fun. I love it alot” says Iszie Tigges-Green, a member of the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra, a group that is preparing to travel to Argentina to perform.
The group will leave Thursday, and perform five concerts in three cities (Buenos Aires, Rosario, and Mar del Plata) in eleven days.
"It's an amazing experience, musically and culturally” says Christine Eckel, WYSO Concert Orchestra Conductor.
Besides playing for the first time South America, their music will do more than just spread to a new continent, it will also help serve young musicians in one of the poorest parts of Buenos Aires.
"It's very important to WYSO's mission that we bring the joy of classical music to those populations who may not have an opportunity to hear it” says Bridget Fraser, WYSO Executive Director.
