Madison Police say an iPhone tracking app helped officers and Paul's Club bar staff track down a suspected phone thief.
A bouncer at the bar had his iPhone 4S stolen while it was charging inside the nightclub.
A colleague used the “Find My iPhone” app on a different phone to track the stolen iPhone.
GPS showed that the phone was in the area.
An officer and bar staff found a suspect hiding near Lake Mendota next to an air conditioning unit.
The man, identified as 33-year-old Denis Baker, denied stealing the phone.
A bar staff member called the phone and it could be heard ringing nearby. It was found in the snow beneath a trash can where Baker was trying to hide.
According to the police report, Baker then said “You know what? Just take me to jail. I'm done answering questions.”
