Where is it written that government is responsible for such social ills? It would be nice to provide such assistance, but all you recall Walker folks are helping to deplete funds for such programs. There's only such money available, and if X% is for recall elections (instead of simply waiting for the next election), then that means it's X% less for other governmental programs. Of course, we could avoid the loss of such programs by requiring all public employees to contribute 8% towards their pensions (instead of the meager 5.8%) and 20% towards their health care benefits (instead of the meager 12.6%).

Most likely he is happy as all get out.

Calm down Herman. Where did s/he ever say that they were okay with it? While more of a lazy approach, they didn't seem condone the cuts.
At least, unlike too many of our politicians, s/he actually has a plausable plan for rectifying our debt problems without pillaging some orgs more than others.

Yes, I did, and it was probably about as misinformed as anything you write...

You heartless fool, did you even see 15's report? Brought a tear to my eye. Ever know someone who suffers from such an attack? I know several. There's more to it than the headline.

What is wrong with Walker's administration? I can see budget cuts in areas, but there needs to be priorities. Victims need this service to survive a painful experience--just a sad day when a corporation wins money over someone who is assulted. We need to clean house big time!

These programs are cut because of bad management- plain and simple- just like in Mr. Holland... THAT'S life, and you are okay with it??? Mmy god....

You are so right. This is just adding fuel to the fire. It's like they can't even see what's important and what's not--like Walker's wages (where's his cuts!)

I wonder what Walker's pastor father thinks of no funding for the sexually abused?

Anyone who thinks that the recall is solely about collective bargaining rights (as the republicans would have you believe).
better wake up and look at this as a prime example of what Walker stands for. No women's rights. No schooling. No fresh drinking water. No litigation for those wronged. Do I need to go on??? I, for one, will be voting Walker out.

Guess what? Not every program can weather the economic storm unscathed and with an untouched budget, even important ones like this one. This kinda reminds me of the movie Mr Holland's Opus...unfortunately some programs will suffer...sorry, but that's life.
If the budget decisions were left to me, every department would get an equal percentage cut, cutting until the budget is balanced. That way no one can whine about being hurt more than another. Any changes in pay would be up to each department, as long as they meet their overall final budget.
As far as security costs go, anyone know how much Doyle cost us?
