horray for this traditionalist bishop.....the feet of MEN are supposed to be washed.....too much liberialism and so-called "political correctness" in the church....the roman catholic church has descended a long way down from what is was prior to the horrid second vatican council.....what needs to be emphasised is the sacred council of trent/of pope st pius v...that is why attend the latin tridentine mass at st. agnes in baton rouge
It is also about being Christlike and we acknowledge that we are sinners. Mass should also be about hope and forgiveness. These priests just beat you down. They also forget that women are and were an important to Jesus and thought of highly. Not just maids.
For Catholics, the Mass is about the sacredness of receiving Christ in scripture and in Holy Eucharist. There is nothing these priests are doing to detract from that. Shame on those who would suggest otherwise and forget what they are going to Mass for in the first place.
These priests have driven off half the congregation, forced the shut down of the school, denied people sacraments as they lay dying and treated the wishes of the parishoners with no regard. Much like the Republican war on Women and Society. I blame Morono, pun intended! He's as bad as Walker.
His Excellency The Most Reverend Robert C Morlino 4th Bishop of Madison apparently forgot he doesn't own the church, the people own the church, it's their money who pays the bills, you loose your congregation..you loose your money and support....they are closing more and more churches every day due to shortage of priests, new priest comes and says I'm in charge and I control this church...WRONG it's the people who praise god in that dwelling....Bishop...loose the congreation....loose your money!!!!!!
He would never bring these priests to Queen of Peace, St Thomas Aquinas, or St Maria Goretti because he would lose too much money. He figures that the smaller churches he can get away with it. Sad. He has left a wake of parish destruction where these priests have been. I have been to so many masses around the world and NEVER have been to a mass like the ones these priests give. Not Christlike at all!
And this will help keep the church strong? There is something called balance- in everything and these days it seems to be missing from everywhere.
I would tell Morlino there are other churchs that would like me to join and he could take it or lump it.
