MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker has issued an energy emergency proclamation for northeast Wisconsin.

That's because of a shutdown of a pipeline between Milwaukee and Green Bay. It has the potential to trigger shortage of petroleum products, including gasoline, in the Green Bay area.

According to a news release Saturday from Walker's office, gasoline is being shipped by tanker truck from other parts of the state to the Green Bay area. But long waits at gasoline terminals in Madison and Milwaukee are making it difficult for companies to keep up with demand.

WISC-TV in Madison reports (http://bit.ly/QkCESu ) the proclamation will allow drivers of gasoline trucks to be exempted from weekly hours of service restrictions.

This exemption applies to all highways in Wisconsin for ten days starting Saturday.
