Concussions are serious brain injuries that not only cause headaches and dizziness but they may lead to long lasting cognitive problems.
UW Health Sports Medicine wants to get that message across to young athletes, their parents and coaches.
It's holding "Heads Up! Head Injury Management," a free clinic for parents and coaches.
Organizers say the purpose of the clinic is to make sure parents and coaches understand concussions and can recognize the symptoms.
The clinic will be held next Monday, August 23rd from 6 to 8 p.m. at the UW Health Sports Medicine Clinic.
