For 17 years, Farley's House of Pianos has been sponsoring and planning a "piano playathon" fund raiser.
"We bring attention to playing the piano and the joys it gives everybody as well as raising money for a very worthwhile cause."
About 300 pianists will get pledges or donations... to give to a charity children can relate to.
This year they hope to meet or exceed the annual goal of 10-thousand dollars for U-W American Family Children's Hospital.
All the money goes to the "Child Life" program, which is *not* supported by patient funds or insurance.
Several rooms are set up as "non treatment" rooms, where kids can be kids.
" Sometimes the children that are patients there have very serious problems that medically they cannot share toys with others. So these have to be new things that they play with that they may take home. All of these things require funding! "
So here are the details:
The Keyed Up for Kids Piano Playathon is this Saturday, February 7th at Hilldale Mall in Madison.
It runs from 9am to 6:30pm and you can drop donations there on the spot!
