Family First: Biggest Loser

At revolution personal training in Sun Prairie, 39-year-old Ginger Murray works out and feels like she's 16 again.
That's because she hasn't been this size since she was 16!

"It's just a number that's unfathomable. Because how do you lose 70 pounds basically in 24 weeks. But the program, we just did it, it just came off. "

The program Ginger is talking about is the Biggest Loser a local workout inspired by the popular NBC show.

Ginger started her weight loss journey a year ago but had trouble getting the pounds to come off.

"I started on my own and I was going to the gym and progress was very slow."

But when Ginger spotted the ads for Revolution personal training, now only a year-old business itself, she was motivated.
And now, so are her kids she hopes, for life.

"They love that I did this exercise. They're both interested in doing exercise they asked for ice skates so they're learning to ice skate and we take them to the gym whenever we can. "

Jill Linde from Revolution continues to offer the Biggest Loser program in 3 months sessions with a month off in between.
The workouts are intense, of course, but Jill also points out what *else* the participants take home.

" Everybody always thinks it's the exercise and it's the diet but really there are those emotional triggers that we also try to talk about. When you're watching TV and don't have other things going on, why do you bring that platter of food in .. is it b/c you're hungry or is it b/c you had a long day at work and you just want to feed your face? Many many things that we cover as trainers that help people be very successful."

Sarah & NBC15 crew: Thank you for covering this story and giving me credit for the results. I want to restate that I could not have done this without the support of my husband and family, friends, Biggest Loser teammates and trainers, and co-workers at Lawton & Cates. The Biggest Loser program offered at Revolutions was just what I needed. If any of your viewers are ready to make the commitment to change their lifestyle and become healthier, this is the way to do it! I hope other Biggest Loser participants will share their stories as we were all winners: we all learned healthy eating habits and effective exercise routines. The trainers deserve credit for knowing how to keep us motivated and being flexible with the exercise programs when we had injuries that required accommodations. Using sparkpeople.com to track our food/exercises everyday was also very important. Again, thank you for sharing this story. I hope my story will inspire others to sign up for Biggest Loser!
