Family First: 7 Rules for Eating

This is a fun one today - the seven rules you and your kids should use before you eat - brought to us by WebMD.com.

Number one, don't eat anything your great grandmother wouldn't recognize as food. Something like a portable yogurt tube that wasn't refrigerated. Two is don't eat anything with ingredients you can't pronounce. The third simple rule for eating is to stay out of the middle of the grocery store, nutrition experts will tell you to shop on the perimeter of the store where the food is fresh. Rule number four is don't eat anything that won't eventually rot, like Twinkies. Number five don't be afraid to leave the table a little hungry. Fullness is likely to settle in. Six is try to eat together it brings better habits among kids.
Finally, don't buy food where you buy your gasoline. In the U.S., 20 percent of food is eaten in the car.
