With plenty of rain in our spring forecast these days parenting magazine has some fun suggestions for you and the kids when you're stuck inside.
First, don't be afraid to play outside in a little rain.
Even just a few minutes splashing in puddles can release some of that pent up energy!
Second, take your kids on a "rescue the worms" walk. This could be for kids of many ages and see who can count or collect the most.
They suggest throwing them from the sidewalk back into the grass, fyi.
Third, try using sidewalk chalk on a wet sidewalk when the showers clear. Parents who've tried it say it works like paint!
Fourth for the times it's pouring too hard to head outdoors make a rain catcher.
Have your child decorate a two-liter soda bottle and measure and mark half-inches with a sharpie.
Then cut off the top and stick it outside to measure the rainfall.
