Family First: Teeth

Today we go over five things that you might not have known about your teeth from our friends at web m-d.

First, sour can be just as bad as sweet. Acidic, low-"P-H" foods like sour candy can soften the teeth.

Enamel can erode and diminish your tooth size.... with citric acid being the worst!

Second, enamel is the hardest substance in the body but it can break easily. Ice and popcorn *can* chip teeth.

Number three is that you can be missing teeth at any age.
Although many get one pulled ... some people are actually *born* missing some... the most common being the wisdom teeth in back.

Number four is too much fluoride can be bad for your teeth.
We all know it's important for healthy teeth but it happens mostly when kids ingest extra fluoride by swallowing too much toothpaste.

Finally, something most people don't' know is that braces can cause cavities.
More brushing and care is all it takes to counter the effects.
