In our Family First report this morning, it's time to prep your teen athletes for that intense back-to-school sports training.
And Dean Health Sports Medicine has a great, inexpensive way to do it.
It's called "base line impact testing" and it's available for athletes 12 and older.
Doctors and trainers will be on hand for the group testing session which offers teens education on concussion awareness and prevention, among other things.
Dean's primary care sports medicine doctors have a fellowship in sports medicine as well as an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon on staff.
Many of these trainers already serve as team doctors for local schools and events, so they're experienced in treating injuries including ankle sprains, muscle strains and knee and shoulder injuries.
The Impact testing is available on Wednesdays from noon to 1 p.m. at Dean West Clinic.
That's on high point road in Madison from now through September 30th.
It's also available Thursdays from 8 to 9 a.m.at dean east on Stoughton Road from now through September 24th.
Testing is $15 and if you'd like to make an appointment, call 608-294-6464.
