In this morning's family first, we parents all figured this was the case, but it turns out babies are born to boogie!

A new study finds dancing comes naturally to infants.

The study looked at 120 infants between 5 months and 2 years old.

It was the beat rather than things like melody, that produces the response in infants.

To test babies, the researchers played classical music, rhythmic beats and speech and videotaped the results.

Professional ballet dancers also analyzed how well the babies matched their movements to the music.

The babies sat on their parent's lap and the adults were told they couldn't move.

The researchers found the babies moved their arms, hands, legs, feet, torsos and heads in response to the music, much more than to speech.
