Family First: Pink

Posted: Friday, April 30, 2010 --- 4:33 a.m.

In our family first this morning, two local high schools are using pink to turn their rivalry into a way to give back.

Madison Edgewood and Madison LaFollette baseball teams sold pink t-shirts to raise money for Gilda's Club ...

And they're including pink in their baseball hats to promote the cause.

It's the first time these young athletes have used their sport to fund raise and they're having fun doing it.

" You don't really see guys too much in all pink so I guess it definitely got people's attention which is what we're trying to do at this point so it's been nice. "

"We're lucky enough to play this game but we can help out those people who aren't as fortunate as us and it's a great way for young kids to get involved in sports and help out. "

So at the big game on Saturday, Cindy Alvarez will throw out the Honorary first pitch...

And anyone who wears a Pink Out shirt gets a free raffle tickets.

The game is Saturday, at 3 at Bishop O Connor Centers Baseball Field.

You can buy the t-shirts at LaFollette High School and Edgewood High School.

This will be great! I'll be there. BOCC is a great venue to watch a game. There will be TONS of raffle prizes, and a cool cookout.
