In today's family first, a huge source of relief for all the families scrambling to get their loved ones ready for finals or ACT and SAT exams.
This after Sylvan learning centers closed down in our area.
Learning RX, which has three locations in the area, isn't tutoring, so they aren't picking up any business per se.
But they've had tons of peple turn to them and hope to help those families find a new source of help.
Sylvan is more like test taking while Learning RX is learning how to learn from the beginning on.
If a child needed more help with one subject, like math or science, there are people in the Madison area to turn to.
"If an ACT prep is an immediat In today's e need or if getting through finals is the immediate need, I help them to assess their immediate priorities. So we talk in short term needs adn long term needs.
I work with quite a number of great tutors in the Madison area and I refer them right out to an appropriate tutor for the particular topic they're working."
The folks at Learning RX have lots of contacts with tutors who can help relieve stress for the families whose children have ACT or SAT exams less than 3 weeks away, or finals just around the corner.
Connie also wanted us to remind parents that the best thing to think about is if you are feeling anxious about this, your kids probably know it.
She suggests keeping the simple things like eating and sleeping as regular as possible.. and she also recommends setting a timer during study to practice for those big exams.
