Here are some ideas on how to keep your child's mind active during the summer months.
First, sit down with your family and brainstorm a list of activities you can do together. Decorate a simple jar and throw in the ideas, calling it your Boredom Buster Jar!
Next, make reading fun by finding ways to bring stories to life, like creating a make believe town.
You can also put together an art box with child safe scissors, glue, markers and other materials to make fun art projects.
Another idea, share your favorite cookbook with your child, and let your child pick out a recipe to try. Measuring can be fun and an easy way to keep math skills fresh!
Finally, crank up the music and encourage your entire family to boogie down! Family dance parties not only release pent-up energy, but they give kids a great outlet for self expression as well as enhancing motor and coordination skills.
