In Family First: Help the University of Wisconsin Police Department, and have fun with your family at the same time.

The UWPD K9 Unit is comprised of 3 K9 teams. They need another k-9 unit because Rex the dog Officer is getting ready to retire.

The start up cost for a new K9 team can cost an agency between $50,000 to $60,000.

The event runs from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Saturday and Hickory Hills Kennel in Madison. There will be dog and horse demonstrations.

There will also be raffle tickets sold for a number of prizes including family vacation packages, jewelry, local "date night" packages and Badger and Packer autographed sports memorabilia.

Your dogs are invited, too, so there will be dog focused activities.

All of the profits will help fund the training and purchase of a new K9 team.
