Some Madison sixth graders are learning in two languages.
The first middle school Dual Language Immersion program in Madison has started at Sennett Middle School.
6th graders have half of their classes taught in English and the other half taught in Spanish.
Teacher Caroline Hesse says this program will help kids in the future.
"Practically there are many jobs that require or they would find it helpful if the employees spoke and wrote fluent Spanish so this program helps you become bilingual and biliterate as well as bicultural, " says Hesse.
School officials say the curriculum is standards based and highly language focused.
