A Cottage Grove School student is getting a very special opportunity. 4th grader Jordan Bishop will be the Wisconsin Education Association Council's Kickoff Kid at Saturday's Badger football game!

As the Kickoff Kid, Jordan gets to retrieve the tee after the opening kickoff and he gets an autographed ball from coach Bret Bielema. He says he's excited about the opportunity but says he'll be nervous.

Jordan's 3rd grade teacher Sherry Melde nominated him.

"He's just an all around great kid, kind hearted helpful to others he's quite a bit younger than most of his class. He has a summer birthday and he was just very mature and I just thought on a daily basis he just was doing the right thing and being a good kid," says Melde.

WEAC Kickoff Kids are also recognized in a public address and video board announcement during the first quarter of each home game.
