HILBERT, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities say an 11-year-old boy has drowned while swimming in a Calumet County retention pond.
Jacob Meronek was swimming with his 9-year-old brother Tuesday afternoon in Hilbert when he went under water and disappeared. The Calumet County dive team found the boy in about 8 feet of water.
WLUK-TV says the boy was taken to the Calumet Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
