Around 9 p.m. Thursday a bomb scare was called into the Badger Bus Depot.
According to Madison Police the anonymous caller said there was a bomb on a bus that was heading out of town.
The bus driver was alerted and the bus stopped and was evacuated on East Washington Avenue near Baldwin Street.
The street was closed down and traffic was blocked for several blocks.
After the evacuation another threat was called in to the depot - police believe by the same person - saying the bomb was not on the bus but in a backpack.
All passengers unloaded their bags and placed them near the bus.
Dane County bomb-sniffing dogs checked the bags and the bus and did not hit on anything suspicious.
After about an hour passengers were allowed to reboard the bus and continue on their trip.
