The former sheriff of Dodge county has died.
73-year-old Edwin Nehls died in a car accident in Barron county Sunday.
Nehls was appointed sheriff in 1969 by then Governor Knowles.
He served as sheriff until 1986 and again from 1987 to 1988.
Nehls was also a Korean war veteran.
