There's been an arrest in the fatal shooting of a UW-Milwaukee student from Lodi who was killed delivering sub sandwiches.
Milwaukee police said today they've arrested a 24-year-old man who was on parole for negligent homicide.
Police spokeswoman Anne Schwartz says the man was arrested on Sunday night after a citizen tipped them on the location of a van they thought was connected to the crime. The van was shown on television.
Schwartz says the suspect demanded money from 21-year-old Joseph Munz after he delivered a sandwich last week. Schwartz says Munz was shot multiple times and pistol whipped. She says Munz tried to fight back, even after he was shot.
According to online court records, the suspect pleaded no contest in 2001 to homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle and hit and run involving death.
Munz was making a delivery in a neighborhood west of the UW-Milwaukee campus.
