Man charged with murder of student delivery driver

A Milwaukee man on parole for vehicular homicide has allegedly admitted he fatally shot and beat a sandwich delivery man as the victim tried to fight off his robbery attempt.

A criminal complaint filed on Wednesday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court charges 24-year-old Michael Green with first-degree intentional homicide while armed, attempted robbery, two counts of possession of firearm by a felon and two counts or robbery, all with habitual criminality penalty enhancers.

He's accused of killing 21-year-old Joseph Munz, who was a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student from Lodi north of Madison. Munz was killed the evening of October 10th after delivering a sandwich on his part-time job as a driver for a Jimmy John's sandwich shop.

According to the complaint, Green told investigators he got no money from the delivery man.

He said he learned the victim's name and that he was dead from news reports the next day. Detectives say he told them that -- quote -- he ``hopes for forgiveness from Joe's family.''
