Authorities in Lafayette County are investigating a murder after a man's body was found inside of a car.

Deputies in Lafayette County say they received a call from a man early Wednesday morning. That man found a Ford Escort on his hunting property along Gratz Road, near rural Blanchardville.

When investigators arrived, they found the body of a white man in his 50s dead inside. The man was bleeding from his nose, otherwise there were no other visible signs of harm.

Lafayette County Sheriff's deputies say the victims' description resembles that of the vehicles owner who is said to be from Dodgeville. Authorities are still trying to identify the victim, and have not released his name. An autopsy is under way.

Investigators say if the victim is who they think it is, the man has a criminal record and was involved in selling and buying drugs.
