Portage Principal Killed In Accident

Portage Junior High Principal Wayne Bartels was killed in a wood-cutting accident on his farm in Marquette county Sunday.
Students were told when they arrived at school Monday morning.
Assistant Superintendent Peter Hibner says despite this tragic loss, they're trying to keep things as normal as possible for the students.
Extra counselors were on hand and all junior high activities have been cancelled for Monday night.
Funeral arrangements are still pending.
