Feingold Says He's Closer to Decision on Presidential Run

Senator Russ Feingold says he's closer to making a decision on a presidential race following this week's congressional elections, but he still hasn't decided if the election results have made him more or less likely to run for president.

The Wisconsin Democrat says the results push him in both directions, so he's going to sit down and think about what he wants to be doing over the next couple years.

Tuesday's elections saw Democrats take control of the House and make a run for Senate control as well.

Feingold says he's also buoyed by exit poll results showing that almost 6 of 10 voters disapproved of the war in Iraq and a majority say the United States should withdraw some or all of its troops.

Feingold was the first senator to call for a timetable to bring troops back from Iraq.

But he says he's also attracted to the idea of serving as part of a Senate majority.

A close victory in a Virginia race gives Democrats control of the Senate.
