One day after Steve Kagen won a fiercely contested congressional seat, authorities say his son was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff's Captain Mike Jobe says 21-year-old Tommy Kagen received a $168 ticket after a security screener at the Outagamie County Regional Airport found a marijuana pipe in his bags.
Authorities say it happened around 5:00pm on Wednesday. Steve Kagen was not with his son at the time.
In a statement, the elder Kagen says he's quote ``very disappointed'' with his son's actions.
He says the act shows a lack of respect for the law and his family.
The Democratic Kagen beat Republican John Gard on Tuesday in a tight race for northeast Wisconsin's Eighth District seat.
