Madison Police Searching for Suspects After 2 Armed Robberies

Madison Police are searching for suspects after 2 armed robberies in unusual places.

Police say two men were attacked in their own driveways at separate locations between 8:00 and 9:00pm Sunday night.

In the first attack, a 38-year-old man was taking his garbage out on the 7500 block of Tree lane, when two men pulled out a gun, took the man's money and keys, and fled the scene.

In the second attack, a 58-year-old man was bringing in his groceries on the 2700 block of Chamberlain Avenue, when 3 men pulled a gun on him, asking for his money. That man fought back and eventually his attackers fled, without taking anything.

Police say they don't know if the attacks are related to others taking place near the UW campus.

Mike Hanson of the Madison Police Department says, "In these incidents, they were very early in the night, 8:30 and 9:00, to individuals that didn't fit the intoxicated college student profile. These individuals were 58 and 38 years old."

Hanson says they're still looking for suspects and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
