If you heat your home with natural gas, you're likely paying less than you were a year ago.
Alliant Energy says on average, home heating bills in November were down 28% compared to November 2005.
A company spokeswoman says that's due to a number of factors, including our mild start to the winter and the quiet hurricane season in the Gulf Coast.
Erin Dammen of Alliant Energy Communications says, "There is a lot of heating season left and weather is the number one driver on how much natural gas people use and consequently what their bills will be.”
MG&E says its customers are also paying at least 20% less on their home heating bills compared to this time last year.
