In Milwaukee, a 16-year-old girl has pleaded guilty to 3 counts of being party to first-degree sexual assault in a Labor Day incident in which authorities say an 11-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by more than a dozen males.
Milwaukee County Assistant District Attorney Matt Torbenson says authorities originally believed the older girl had orchestrated all of the assaults but later learned her role was not that extensive.
He says investigators learned the Milwaukee house where the Labor Day assaults occurred was "a community center of chaos" where children and adults knew they could do anything they wanted.
Children's Court Judge Thomas Cooper sentenced the teen to a maximum of 3 years in a secure juvenile facility, with another 2 years on supervision, and ordered sex-offender treatment and counseling.
The girl has cooperated with police, agreed to testify against others and understands what she did was wrong.
