Release from Dane County Sheriff's Office

At 10:37 pm on July 5th, Dane County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the Arby's Restaurant, 601 S. Gammon Road, after receiving a report of an armed robbery. Employees of Arby's reported a lone gunman entered the restaurant, displayed a handgun, and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

The employees reported the gunman entered the store as they were closing for the evening, and confronted one of the employees. The gunman forced this employee to the back of the store, where the second employee was working in an office. The gunman then demanded money, and fled on foot.

Responding deputies were on scene within two minutes of the call, and immediately set up a perimeter. A Madison Police Officer and K-9 partner assisted with tracking the suspect, however the suspect was not located.

The robber is described as a black male, 6' 01" to 6' 03" tall, with a thin build and dressed all in black. The Dane County Sheriff's Office asks for anyone with information about this robbery to call the Tipster Hotline at 284-6900. The investigation is on-going at this time.
