The Dane County Sheriff's department says thieves are targeting homes and vehicles in the town of Westport.
In the last 10 days, five area residents have been hit.
Elise Schaffer of the Dane County Sheriff's Department, "What they're doing is taking credit cards, cash, electronics and in at least one instance we know they were able to use the credit cards after they stole them."
Authorities ask that everyone remain vigilant and keep an eye on your neighbors' homes, as well as report suspicious activity.
