Union Members in Sun Prairie Approve Contract

Video will be available shortly.

United Steelworkers members in Sun Prairie voted for the contract agreement worked out by the striking union and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

The union has about 250 members at the Sun Prairie plant that makes belts and hoses.

Geneva Brown is recording secretary with Local 904 in Sun Prairie, and she says the vote on the contract today was 161 for it and 48 against.

She says she has some worries about parts of the contract, including the use of Goodyear stock to back part of a trust fund for retiree medical benefits.

But she says most members want the dispute settled and are ready to go back to work.
