The state revenue department has retrieved about 54,500 undelivered tax booklets from post offices in Portage, Madison and Oshkosh because the labels inadvertently include the taxpayer's Social Security.
Another 116,500 booklets with similar labels have been delivered.
Revenue department spokeswoman Meredith Helgerson said today she doesn't expect any more booklets will be recovered.
She says files that were sent to the vendor, Ripon Community Printers, have also been retrieved and Social Security numbers removed. She says that should ensure that vendors in the future will not receive confidential information.
Community Printers president Andy Lyke says they're trying to determine how the numbers ended up on the tax labels.
