There's a proposal to increase the fines against telemarketers who violate the state's no call list.
Senator Jon Erpenbach of Middleton will reintroduce legislation this session that would also extend the list to cell phones.
Currently, those who contact residents on Wisconsin's no call list can be fined no more than $100 per violation.
Erpenbach wants to increase the fine to a maximum $10,000. He says businesses might consider the current fines no more than the cost of doing business.
Erpenbach's plan died in the Senate last session. But, now his Democratic party is in control of the Senate.
