The mother of a Wisconsin soldier says he's been killed in Iraq when the vehicle he was riding in was struck by a roadside bomb.
Jean Grimm tells her hometown newspaper, the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune, that her 21-year-old son Matthew Tyler Grimm died from injuries suffered in the blast.
The newspaper says Grimm was serving in a cavalry unit based out of Fort Bliss, Texas.
There's been no report of the death as yet from the military, although the Pentagon reported yesterday that a US soldier whose unit was checking streets for explosives was killed by a roadside bomb in central Baghdad Sunday. The name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Grimm is the 67th Wisconsin member of the military to die in the Iraq war.
