Racine police have a suspect in custody in the sexual assault of a 6-year-old boy in an elementary school bathroom.
Sergeant Michael Polzin says evidence they recovered led them to the 20-year-old Racine County man -- although he wasn't specific.
Police believe the suspect is the man who assaulted the boy in a second-floor bathroom at Red Apple Elementary Tuesday.
Polzin wasn't sure if the man has a criminal record. He says police could recommend charges to the district attorney later today.
The Racine Unified School District says it's increasing security at schools in the district and is requiring guests to register in main offices.
It's not clear how a man entered the school and assaulted the boy.
The district told parents in a letter home the bad weather may have prevented doors from being locked.
