The annual Elver Park fireworks show is back on. The event was canceled last week, but now a local company's making the event possible.

Many people were bummed when they heard the Elver Park firework show was off.

"When I saw that in the newspaper I said oh, I have to go somewhere else now so that was bad," says West Madison resident, Ruth Prado.

Bad turned good, now three weeks before July 4th, and days after Clear Channel Radio just announced the event was canceled, Midwest Family Broadcasting saved the show.

" When we first heard about this and everyone here at Midwest family broadcasting we all, it was that shock of just how can we not have the Elver Park fireworks," says Mary Carol, morning show host for Q106.

The city will pay $35,000 for police expenses, while Midwest family Broadcasting and other sponsors will come up with the rest.

"I'm excited because every year we walk down, we live in the neighborhood so it's a fun event," says West Madison resident, Jodi Sagstetter.

A fun family event that attracts people from everywhere, and every year it's a blast.

"It's pretty well known around here, it's a good tradition and a lot of people in Madison go to it," says Cross Plains resident, Katy Schuettler.

The city council still has to pass the resolution for the event during next week's meeting--but it's not expected to be a problem.
However, this is a one year contract so the same problem may pop up again next year.

The run walk event is not scheduled this year.
